The success of Maini & Magneto Dayo‘s Summer hit Blue Song in The US was huge. It was 11 weeks in a row on National Airplay Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Chart, and was still on the chart in September. Blue Song was 9 weeks in a row on three different National Airplay Top Charts in The US, among them National Airplay Top200 Chart for all genres from gospel to Hip-Hop. The best position was #5 on National Airplay Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Chart in August 2014.

Because Blue Song was on National Airplay Top Charts a couple of weeks also in June 2014, it was on Top Charts almost the whole Summer.

Throughout the Summer many radio stations did report more than 100 airplays a week!

Blue Song was last week #9 on National Airplay Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and # 16 on National Airplay Top 50 Independent Chart. Blue Song has also climbed on National Airplay Top200 Chart and was #135 last week. Top200 Chart contains all genres from gospel to Hip-Hop.

Radio stations in different states in the US report a huge amount of weekly radio airplays, several of them more than 100 airplays a week with a top of 111 reported radio airplays during last week. It means an airplay every 90th minute.

Maini Sorri and Jörgen Hansson’s Moira video continues to triumph in America. Fine reports from the promoter TMG in Hollywood has flowed in since Moira single was released in March. Moira video has been shown in the TV show Brodian’s Basement in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Oregon.

Moira video has been in six episodes of the TV show The Sound Chamber at the Aurora channel 8 in Colorado. Now, the video has been in the PC Music‘s video pool that services commercial and retail outlets throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and South America. Among thousends of  clients are Four Season Hotels, Caesars Palace casino and the Venetian Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Moira video also rotates in Bowling Music Network that serves 500 bowling centers in the U.S. with music.

Moira video got its first showing on TV6 in the U.S. on May 4.
Moira is also in Pulse TV Network that provides content to major electronic stores, restaurants, hotels, nightclubs and other retail outlets in California and Nevada.

Moira is still in rotation at Top40 HipHop 98,2 the Beat in Los Angeles.

There has been two Swedish national selections of Eurovision Song Contest so far. About 86 % of the songwriters are men. It means that Sweden is not as equal as people think when it comes to music.

Some of the songs that have been picked up for the selections are written by the same men year after year. Every song that a songwriter gets into the contest generates a lot of money. Why is it so important that mostly men earn that money? There are lots of talented female songwriters in Sweden. What I hope for next year’s selections is that we get a female Eurovision Song Contest General who’s goal is to pick up songs of great female songwriters to the selections.

I have a quite good song memory. It is sad that many phrases in some songs are heard before. It happens when the same persons write songs to the contest year after year.

Artists vary but the sex of the songwriters don’t. It is very peculiar that the lack of female songwriters is not more noticed by media and listeners. Everyone is so used to it, after years and years with the same male Eurovision Song Contest General in Sweden.

Most of the contestants are also men, although there are lots of great female artists and bands in Sweden. In the second national  selection tonight 80 % of the artists were men!
