Interview on Gaydarnation Radio,\u00a0 UK January 19 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n

Swedish artist Maini is gearing up to release her new electronic dance single \u2018Let Me Do Your Time\u2019, arranged by techno master Piyasiri.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We spoke to Maini about her music and how it puts people in\u00a0the right\u00a0mood.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So tell us a bit about the new single \u2018Let Me Do Your Time\u2019 \u2013 what can we expect?
\n<\/strong>It is a catchy track with a great dance background by Piyasiri. It is a song to love and to sing along to. I’m sure that the video will put a\u00a0smile on your face.<\/p>\n

What are you most proud of about the single?
\n<\/strong>As soon as people hear the intro, it puts them in the right mood. [Smiles]. <\/em><\/p>\n

You recently released an EP in the UK \u2013 tell us a bit more about that…
\n<\/strong>My EP Someday<\/em> featured pop ballads. I was happy\u00a0with all great reviews I got\u00a0and for being on Music World Radio’s Top 20 charts for 16 weeks so far. Someday <\/em>recently stayed at number\u00a0one for three weeks.<\/p>\n

So, when did you first realise you had musical talent?
\n<\/strong>When I was\u00a0three years old, our family visited an old lady who had a toy piano\u00a0and\u00a0I loved to play on it. When I came home, I\u00a0became interested\u00a0in the big piano we had at home. At\u00a0eight, I began to write piano music.<\/p>\n

Do you like to draw on your own experiences when you make music?
\n<\/strong>When I write songs, I always get a strong feeling that must come out, and the music and the lyrics come to me. Yes, my own lyrics are about feelings I have felt. But often I use lyrics that people have sent to me, hoping that I would compose the music. The\u00a0lyrics of ‘Let Me Do Your Time’ are by Gary Cornman from the USA.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the best piece of advice you\u2019ve ever been given?
\n<\/strong>The best advice I’ve been given was from a friend\u00a0who\u00a0suggested I\u00a0begin to write songs. I only wrote\u00a0 piano music ’til I was 17.<\/p>\n

The new single is very club-friendly \u2013 do you go out clubbing much yourself?
\n<\/strong>Music and skiing practice take up most of my time, so I don’t have much time for clubbing. [Smiles].<\/em><\/p>\n

If we were to buy you a drink at the bar, what would you ask for?
\n<\/strong>I always stay sober and have great fun anyway. [Laughs].<\/em><\/p>\n

Where\u2019s your favourite place on earth?
\n<\/strong>At my computer connected to fans all around the world is a nice place to be. [Smiles].<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"What makes you happy?
\n<\/strong>All the great messages from fans, great reviews and airplays of my music make me happy.<\/p>\n

What makes you angry?
\n<\/strong>When people don’t respect human rights.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>A genuine feeling and something you want to share.<\/p>\n

It ends with…
\n<\/strong>Hopefully a nice melody and great lyrics that can make people happy or comfort them when they are sad.<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the single and beyond?
\n<\/strong>I hope this single will get lots of listeners all around the world. I have recorded several new songs that I am going to release. I have also recorded a new single with my Italian and Swedish band Sorriso.<\/p>\n
